We recommend that you order at least 3 days in advance to avoid disappointment. Mooncakes are made fresh every 2-3 days.
How to store mooncakes
- Agar-Agar mooncakes: We use UHT santan which are heated again to ensure food safety. With proper chilling and storage, you can keep it in the fridge for 1 week although we recommend you to consume it within 3 days. The mooncake collects moisture over time in the fridge. Here's something peculiar about Jellies and AgarAgar - if you eat it chilled, it will not taste sweet. However, if you eat it at room temperature, it tastes sweet.
- Snowskin mooncakes can be kept in the chiller for 3-5 days in an airtight container and should be stored in refrigerated conditions as soon as possible after purchase. Even though they can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, its texture will dry out and harden beyond 1 week. Do not refreeze mooncakes after they have been thawed.
- We add Alkaline water into our traditional Baked mooncakes to extend the shelf life and counter the sugar acidity. So the baked mooncakes can last 5 days in room temperature but must be securely stored in a clean and air tight container. It can be kept chilled in fridge for up to 1 month and kept in freezer for 3 months. To defrost, put the baked mooncakes in the fridge and then room temperature before warming it up in the oven. Its texture will be dry when you warm it in the microwave oven. Baked mooncakes actually taste best in room temperature and give 48 hours for the dough skin to absorb and immerse with the oil from the fillings.
